Ms Adeline Yang is currently a vision scientist at Essilor. She was previously doing vision research with DSO National Laboratories for the past 14 years. She graduated with a Diploma in Optometry in 2002 and received her Bachelor of Science with Honours in biomedical science in 2009. She is currently studying for her Master of Science in Clinical Optometry with Cardiff University.
Her research work involves the evaluation of eyecare intervention methods like LASIK and PRK, perceptual learning and night vision which have led to the establishment of certain healthcare policies in the Singapore Armed Forces. She is also part of the Singapore Eye Research Institute Myopia Research Group to help understand the development of myopia in Singapore. In addition, she is actively developing eye tests and monitoring systems specifically for military use and hopefully, it may be commercialised for clinical use in the near future.
